Sumatra Takengon Gayo Highland IKA
Sumatra Takengon Gayo Highland IKA
Another example of a classic Indonesian style of coffee cultivation and processing, this Sumatra is harvested from farms that average less than 3 acres. The producers, nearly 70% women, belong to the Gayonese ethnic group who still maintain traditional village lifestyles.
Using a wet-hulling process called Giling Basah in the Indonesian language, whereby the coffee parchment is removed while wet leaving the beans exposed while drying on patios, they produce coffee with a unique bluish color and the hallmark full-bodied Sumatra cup profile.
Cup Profile: caramel, leather, red apple, chmomile - medium roast
