Nicaragua - Alto de Jinotega de COMULFAC

This coffee from the rugged and fertile central highlands of Jinotega in northern Nicaragua, is supported by J&M Family Coffee, a privately-owned, community focused coffee export company.  Working to assist neighboring coffee producers with the same focus on quality and environmental responsibility, they helped establish Cooperativa Multifuncional Family Coffee to organize efforts, combine resources and provide technical assistance. 

COMULFAC members own small farms and use their own micro-mill to carefully harvest, sort, depulp, ferment, wash and pre-dry coffee at their farms. Following which they deliver the coffee to J&M where drying is completed and the coffee is stored and prepared for export.  By ensuring quality control and traceability from farm to export they are able to improve the quality of life in their communities.
