With notes of lush tropical fruit and zesty acidity accompanied by delightful sweetness and velvety mouthfeel, this is a coffee you will want to revisit. Grown in the Cobán region of Guatemala, part of the country’s rainforest-covered Alta Verapaz department, coffees from Cobán tend to be overlooked in specialty buying, despite an official quality designation by Guatemala’s own national coffee sector, Anacafé.
Finca Santa Isabel is a 70-hectare estate just outside the town of San Cristóbal. Luis "Wicho" Valdez has been running his family's farm since 1999. In the past 10 years his coffee's have become some of the most sought-after in Guatemala. A kind, studious, experienced, and determined coffee producer with a degree in agricultural engineering, he has demonstrated his ability to manage the complexities necessary to elevate our expectations of coffee from Cobán. Fully washed and dried in the sun.
